[2.52] Flac corruption while adding album cover

I don't think there is any since the file is actually modified. mp3tag does not keep track of the original files upon until the changes are saved.

I just reproduced the problem again with 2.51. I will fallback to 2.50 and see how it goes.

D:\EACRips\The Flaming Lips - Embryonic\10 - The Ego's Last Stand.flac (FRAME_CRC_MISMATCH @ 2m 21s)

By the way, I used Bit-Compare addon for foobar on the two tracks. Here is what I get:

Comparing:
"D:\EACRips\The Flaming Lips - Embryonic - BROKEN\10 - The Ego's Last Stand.flac"
"D:\EACRips\The Flaming Lips - Embryonic\10 - The Ego's Last Stand.flac"
Differences found: 8192 sample(s), starting at 141.7346032 second(s), peak: 0.8291931 at 141.7396599 second(s), 1ch

So it does look like mp3tag is messing up with the flac... By the way, all covers I'm adding are 1000 x 1000 in jpg format.

I will also take a look at the hex values using notepad++ but I guess that without the source code, not much more can be done. Is Florian still looking at reported issues?

Hello all,

I've been adding cover to quite a lot of flac tonight using mp3tag 2.50 and so far, I didn't get any corrupted flac, but it's too early to tell! It does look the corruption bug could have been introduced in version 2.51... By looking at the version history, it could make sense:

[2012-05-14] NEW: added support for %_counter% and %_total_files% for format string at action
                   'Import cover from file'.
[2012-05-13] NEW: added option to specify cover type at action 'Import cover from file'.
[2012-05-04] CHG: add cover now defaults to the last used cover directory if the is no cover art in
                   the file's directory.

These are changes related to the cover and the bug some of us are having is related to this feature... I will still run further tests using 2.50 to make sure I can't get any corruption files. That could explains why xTobix (and tons of people using mp3tag for ages) cannot reproduce the problem as he is using 2.50.

I'm experiencing the same problem. Some FLAC files get corrupted by adding a cover to them through mp3tag. I'm running mp3tag on Win10 and have been experiencing the problem with mp3tag 2.72 and now with 2.75 as well... So I suppose the bug still persists...
