Album Art size differs after copy/paste

Has anyone noticed that the Album Art size differs after copy/paste is done?

This is what I am doing:

  1. I select a song that has Album Art.
  2. I right click on the Album Art and select "Copy cover".
  3. I select another song which doesn't have Album Art.
  4. I right click on the empty Album Art and select "Paste cover".
  5. The Album Art is copied successfully but the cover size shown by Mp3Tag differs from the original cover size.

Expected results: Destination cover size matches the source cover size.

Workaround: If I extract the Album Art to a file and the add it using "Add cover" then the size matches in all cases.

Notes: In general I noticed that the pasted size tends to be smaller than the original for covers that are >50KB and bigger than the original for covers <50KB. Could it be that Mp3Tag is changing the JPEG compression rate?

Right, so it's not a direct bug but an indirect one due to the use of the clipboard. Still I think users expect a "copy" to "paste" exactly the same thing they are copying. I guess the code could be changed to do the copy in memory without using the clipboard. But sure this is much more work for a "bug" that has a workaround and it's not major...

Copying in memory would break all these cases where the user actually wants to copy the cover to another application.

And I don't plan to add an additional menu item for copy to memory.
