Action Groups Question

Hello all to mp3tag friends. It's my first post here :slight_smile:
I'm using this software for long years but just see that i can do a lot using action groups and trying to get used to it.

My beginner question is;
For example I have a file named "Micheal Jackson - Beat It" without any tags.
How can i make Artist tag to "Micheal Jackson" and title tag to "Beat It" using action groups? Which one should i use? If someone can help i will be really appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Use either the Function Convert>Filename - Tag
(no action group, though) with the pattern
%artist% - %title%

Or use an action of the type "Guess value" for %_filename%
and the guessing pattern
%artist% - %title%

BTW: I think the correct name for the artist is "Michael Jackson" (ae instead of ea ...). If this is the filename then naturally, the field would be filled with the wrongly spelled name.

I knew the first option mate but second option was exactly what i was trying to learn. Coz using actions is really faster. With only one action group all my files are ready to use otherwise i need some more clicks and waste more time. Guess values menu is very useful. :mt_act:

Micheal think was my mistake, thanks for correcting it.

Thanks for your quick and solid reply, really really appreciated. Knowing that much more helpful people here is really nice. Have a good night master. :music:
