"Adobe Audition" and ID3 Metadata in mp3 tracks

In another thread "Adobe Audition" has been described as "Leader in the field".

This is what Adobe Audition (v25.0 - a very high priced Audio software) offers as metadata for ID3:

AA offers exactly 13 fields to fill. Not one more.
(OK, 14 if you want to count the cover art too )

These 13 fields are (recognized and shown in Mp3tag Extended Tags:)

And NO, Adobe Audition is not able to read BPM. Not as official TBPM field nor as TXXX field.

I could also not find the field, where the content "Adobe Copyright URL" will be saved.
This information is not even saved in the massive additional XMP data, that will be written in every mp3 track:

IMHO, Adobe Audition is far away from beeing the "Leader in the field" respecting to metadata in mp3. It may be a very good WAV editor and offers many AUDIO related tools.
Metadata processing for mp3 is not one of their strengths.

Thanks LyricsLover for your detailed tests...

Sorry for my mistake, I thought it was among the best, because I like their programs in general, they are very good, I don't want to work with wav files...

Following your research, I did some research yesterday, I work in the studio with the Reaper Software program, I like what they say: Without Limits, and it's true...

People in the field, start to abandon Pro Tools, for Reaper which costs almost nothing, and it is Open Source

I have a good friend of mine who is a studio producer, he is considered a Reaper champion, he does what he wants in programming with this program, he did more in my program than I asked him to do... All the keyboard commands are personalized etc.

As my friend Martin often tells me, the only problem is the menus, which are not well structured, it is sometimes difficult to find your way around...

I looked at the tags, in this program, it detects all the tags, there is a Metadata page, I noticed that it detects first the tag (BPM) (TBPM), I will ask my friend Martin, if I can replace it with the Tag BPM (BPM), I think that it will not be a problem and this program works with MP3 files...

I don't think that Reaper is "Open Source".
(You speak about this Reaper, right?)

"Reaper" is using some "Open Source" components, like mentioned here.
But I could not find the entire source code for this software.
It would be "Open Source", if all the needed code would be available for everyone, including the permission to use it and compile it by yourself.

You can buy "Reaper" currently for

Yes this Reaper, most people who have Reaper in Montreal, Quebec tell me that it is Open Source, I had never done any research on the subject...

Thanks for the info, I will tell them that this is not entirely accurate Reaper", uses some "Open Source" components...

$ 60.00 dollars discounted license. , it is really a bargain for an individual...

You may use the discounted license if:

  • You are an individual, and REAPER is only for your personal use, or
  • You are an individual or business using REAPER commercially, and yearly gross revenue does not exceed USD $20,000, or
  • You are an educational or non-profit organization.

$ 225.00 dollars for a commercial license, it is really cheap for a company...

For all that Reaper program can accomplish, it is really good!

ProTools costs more than this in regular price...

Pro Tools Artist - Annual Subscription $129.00
Pro Tools Studio - Annual Subscription $389.00
Pro Tools Ultimate - Annual Subscription $789.00
