I have a wheel mouse and the first thing I naturally do is use it.
Bang the directory needs to reload as I have moved it...

PS don't know if others have the same problem but it is definately one of those annoying usability issues.

I have a similar suggestion, even a better one IMHO 
:
autochange focus to the control that is currently under the pointer on scroll events.
Implemented for all controls it would be make possible e.g. selecting some files in file view, than simple scrolling over the genre dropdown list to adjust genre and scrolling again over the file view to save the changes, without any cklicking!
