In multi-monitor setups, MP3Tag’s dialogs don’t always open on the same screen as the active MP3Tag window if you change the screen you run MP3Tag on and then move them around. You end up in a situation where they could appear on any monitor. This behavior was explained by ohrenkino here:
My situation is somewhat more complicated as I may have a different PC/laptop displaying on the monitor the dialog appears on so I won’t even see it.
Some dialogs can be moved after activating with Win + Arrow keys, but others, specifically the Quick Actions and Auto-Numbering Wizard cannot be moved that way and must be manually dragged with the mouse.
Please look into having the option to make all dialog windows automatically open on the same monitor as the currently active MP3Tag main window, regardless of where they were last used.
It would prevent off-screen dialogs, ensure consistent behavior, improve usability across multi-monitor environments and save my sanity.
First of all, thank you Florian for creating such an incredible tool—Mp3tag is hands down the best tag editor out there and an essential part of my daily workflow.
I'm experiencing this exact same issue. I work with a 4-monitor setup, and whenever I move the main Mp3tag window to a different display (e.g., monitor 3), prompt dialogs and confirmation popups still open on a completely different screen. It constantly forces me to hunt across my monitors just to find where the active prompt went so I can confirm an action.
I know I'm not alone in this, and I'm sure many other users—especially those with multi-monitor setups—would greatly appreciate this quality-of-life improvement.
So glad to hear it's already on your wish list, Florian! Having all dialogs automatically center over the active main window would make an already amazing app even better.
