Some versions ago, a change was introduced that broke my workflow: When being inside your favorite directory, the option to change to the favorite directory is greyed out. I used to drag-n-drop files from my favorite directory into Mp3Tag, and after I was done, click on favorite directory to view all files again. Now, since the button is grayed out, I have to switch to another directory and then go back to my favorite directory again.
Would it be possible to enable the button again in this scenario? It is a bit annoying to work around this issue.
How to reproduce
Set a favorite directory in the settings
Use the "favorite directory" button to switch to it (or File -> Favorite Directory)
Drag-n-Drop a file from that directory from File Explorer into Mp3Tag
I am not quite sure what you expect as correct behaviour.
The button is disabled as soon as you navigate to the folder that has been set as favourite folder.
In a way I find it fairly straightforward that you cannot load a folder if it is already loaded.
A further test case may be:
set the favourite folder to the main music folder,
open an subfolder with "Change directory ..." -> Favourite folder is now enabled.
click on the "folder up" button
MP3tag changes back to the main music folder -> Favourite folder is now disabled.
So every time the current folder is the same as the set favourite folder the function to open that folder is disabled.
That is correct, but I used that button as a "reload favorite folder" button after I drag-n-dropped a file. I can't do this with the actual reload button: only the files currently in view are refreshed, which is not what I want - I want to view all files in my favorite directory again.
This works. There is an even quicker version by using the "parent directory" button and then clicking on "Favorite Folder" again. Works, but it turns a previously 1-click-action into a 2-click-action. Very minor inconvenice, I know But would still be good to get working again.
If you click into the Directory display in the tag panel and press enter, then the whole current working directory gets loaded.

Indeed, F5 reloads only the currently loaded files - which is unfortunate if they are part of the favourite folder.
The thing is, the "favorite folder" has only changed (somewhat) recently. I used to do this for years now with no issue.
Ah, didn't know that! Cool, but again a two-click action. But neat learning something new!
For the record, I'm not advocating for this behavior to change, as I'm sure it is useful to someone else, just like the "useless feature" at hand is to me.
But would still be good to get working again.
