"amazon.com" text in purchased MP3 files

Very infrequently I buy MP3 files from Amazon.com US site. Usually when there is no other option. Today I bought Hugo Lippi’s January 2026 album “Olha Maria” for $8.72, a bargain.

I try to remove all extended tags, comments etc. from my MP3’s. In this case each track had a unique tag Comment tag with “Amazon.com Song ID: 200000707885981”. I used MP3TAG V3.33.1 to blank out the comments. - All good!

However, when I look at the files the text string “amazon.com” is still in the files. See here on the left is MP3TAG after saving, with a hex display and on the right is a hex display of the original file with amazon tags.

What is going on here and can MP3TAG remove the area with “amazon.com” text ?

AFAI see it, this information is stored in PRIV frames which are not supported by MP3tag.
You can remove unsupported fields with the Utils> function from the context menu of the file list.
