I’d like to preface this by saying I have no knowledge on any of this, so I am relatively in the dark, but I have these .wav files downloaded and, upon playing them in Windows Media Player, both the album cover and artist name are not displayed, while everything else seemingly works. I’ve ran through most of the fixes I can think of, I’ve tried converting the files, adjusting the metadata, changing the MPEG read / write / remove, but nothing seems to work. When looking at the files details in the file explorer the metadata seems correct, so maybe it’s an issue with the Media Player. I have attached relevant images, literally any suggestions as to what is happening would be veryyy helpful.
If MP3tag shows the metadata but the player doesn't, then either try a different file format or a different player.
I think this only applies to MP3 files.
Wav wasn't built with the concept of metadata in mind, including album art. Some players and editors have used more current workarounds for this. But Windows Explorer and WMP are still not up to the task. Try Foobar, VLC, or MusicBee to see more details in Windows. If mp3tag continues to show this information, even after closing and then reloading the same file, this confirms the metadata has been saved to the file.
