I didn't find (!) any discussion related to this fantastic piece of software, so I decided to post it here. It's a completely lovely piece of work, my Google Desktop Search is almost perfect now. However there's one little flaw, and that is that the indexer doesn't detect Variable Bitrate mp3 files properly (at least most of my vbr files are identified as 320 kbps). It's not a big deal, but since I rip only using the LAME encoder and its --alt-presets, VBR support would be kinda neat.
The files causing the problems are encoded with LAME 3.96.1 and 3.90.3 --alt preset standard and extreme. A few files are given "random" values that look more like vbr average bitrates, however these are not the correct average bitrates. I have also noticed a few files with correctly detected bitrates, but I'd say that at least 30% of the file are detected as 320 kbps.
