Batch remove extended tags

I'd like to batch remove some of the extended tags in my mp3 collection.
I saw another thread that said you can do it with an action that says remove everything except...
I'm too nervous to do that as I can't risk losing 20 years of meticulous tagging!
How can I do it one one tag at a time (in batch mode)

Instead of using

you could try it with

It is always a very good idea to backup the data regularely.
Especially before you remove metadata fom your files.

Oh yes.
My music collection is triple backed up....

Load the files
Select the files
Open the extended tags dialogue Alt-T
Select the field that you want to delete and click on the red x.
Click OK to apply the changes.
Repeat that for every field that you want to remove.
