version 3.00e, and 3.00d also [did not look further back]
in W7, click menu and move mouse up/dn over items, if item is dimmed then when mouse-over it turns to completely blank.

I have tried it and can confirm it - apparently the contrast for the disabled elements gets so reduced that the text is not visible any more.
This does not happen in W8 and W10
Had to get access to the W7 installation first
