Bulk search Musicbrainz

Hello,

I have a lot of albums files with partial metadata (album and title always) saved, I usually update them with musicbrainz but unfortunately I have to search them one album at the time.

Would it be possible somehow automatically select the album tracks, a kind of partial CTRL+A, to speed up the process ?

Thank you for your help.

Regards

MM

No, this is not possible with Mp3tag.

I would not recommend this workflow, as it will result in a high number of incorrectly assigned metadata.
There is currently no known process that can automagically find the album with the 100% perfect match and also the correct sort order in your local tracks.

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but I'll give it a try:

With Mp3tag v3.31f, you can select all files from an album and from the next album.

First, sort the File List by Track#, then by Album to bring the files in the correct order.

Next, select the first file and use Edit → Select similar files or press CtrlG to select all files of the album. Process them via Tag Sources.

To select the files of the next album use Edit → Select next similar files or press CtrlShiftG. Process them via Tag Sources. :infinity:

Thank you, working great !
