Sorry for such a noob question. I've spent the last few hours searching around the internet + docs + the forum and still don't really understand what mp3Tag does although I can see that people recommend it a lot.
I think my need is quite simple:
combine a bunch of mp3 files into 1 m4b file.
split 1 m4b file into multiple mp3 files.
edit the chapter name.
add new chapter/edit the chapter timestamp without re-encoding the file.
Please give me instructions or links to the relevant docs if possible. Thanks a lot!
The function of mp3tag is to add and edit metadata information that is embedded in most music files, along with a few other formats. It does not edit or convert the actual music files themselves.
Chapter name editing is possible, however those chapters must already exist. Again, mp3tag is the tag editor, it does not manipulate the audio or video streams within those files.
