Can't select multiple files

I can no longer select multiple files in mp3tag, even with a short list. Any help much appreciated.

How are you trying to select these? There are several ways available.

Using the mouse and dragging while holding the left button will select a range. Using Shift+Click will select a range, or Ctrl+Click can I pick select files only.

none of those methods work

turns out the selection was just invisible. it turned up when Dark Mode was used.

If you are on Windows, you can try to activate and adjust the "high contrast mode":

or adjust one of the other available color options:

There should be some change to the background for selected items. But definitely this is more subtle in Dark Mode.
