Changing existing GENRE to other

I have been using MP3tag for many years and I am facing the following problem for quite some time now:
Let's say I have some songs that all have FOLK as their GENRE. If for example I want to change FOLK to POP in one or all of them, this is impossible with one action as it used to be, because the drop-down list does not then show all the default genres. It only shows KEEP, BLANK & the selected genre. To change it, I first have to make them BLANK and then I can choose any other genre I want, because then the drop-down list works normally. If I remember correctly, this started happening from some early 3.xx version of MP3tag and later.
Is this a problem with MP3tag or am I doing something wrong?
The computer is running W11.

Or you just overwrite/enter your new GENRE content manually for the selected tracks (where you see <blank>).
Don't forget to press Ctrl + S or you click on the blue icon in the toolbar to save this change.

If you really want to use an Action, you could change every existing GENRE content in the selected files to - for example - POP with

Action from type "Format value".
Field:
GENRE
Format string:
POP

This would replace every existing GENRE content in the selected files with the new content POP

See the FAQs:

I just intalled the 2.99a version of MP3tag and GENRE on the fly selection works fine.
With 2.99a I am able to change directly the GENRE, with 3.xx I am not.

Where in the very detailed description of the linked FAQs did you get stuck?
