Column Dropdown

Hi,
i was wondering if there is a way to have metatag info that is enter in a column to stay so that info does not have to be enter each time (Ex. year 2020 or a custom column location US / Texas). any help would be great.

No, such a feature is not available for columns.
If you need such a field more often you can ...
... add a field to the tag panel and enter it there
... create an action that writes this information to the tag field
... use the extended tags dialogue for all selected files and enter the data there.

i understand that but why can't that be added for a field? and and how can i create a action for a field to do this i'm no programmer.
