Conditional directory rename HELP!

#1

Hello all,

I am trying to organize my music better. Right now I have every album as it's own directory in the root folder. So if I have 20 Led Zeppelin albums, it shows all 20 in the root. I would like to have it so in the root directory it is Led Zeppelin, then all the subdirectories have the albums. I figured out how to do this fine, but the problem is if I have an album with various artists. Is there a way I can have mp3tag validate that all filenames in a directory are by the same artist? If all filenames are by the same artist, then the "New" structure below would be used. If it is various artists (i.e. not all Artists in a directory are the same), then it would use the "Various Artists" naming scheme. Any ideas?

Current
X:\music\Artist - Year - Album
X:\music\Artist - Year - Album
X:\music\Artist - Year - Album
X:\music\Artist - Year - Album

New
X:\music\Artist\Artist - Year - Album
X:\music\Artist\Artist - Year - Album
X:\music\Artist\Artist - Year - Album
X:\music\Artist\Artist - Year - Album

Various Artists
X:\music## Various Artists ##\Album - Year
X:\music## Various Artists ##\Album - Year
X:\music## Various Artists ##\Album - Year
X:\music## Various Artists ##\Album - Year
