Context menu installation error

I installed 3.26 on Win 11 64 but the context menu item isn't there at directory or file level, displaying the following error message half way through the installation process.
"Staging Sparse Package failed
C..\Mp3tag Mp3tagShell.misx
Windows cannot install package
35795FlorianHeidenrich.Mp3tag.ShellExtension_3.16.1.0_x64_hyhc94k68ebpm because it is already installed with a different external location
"
I don't know where to start looking for the already-installed thing or how to remove it to reinstall.
Can anyone advise on how to repair please?

Is the context menu entry showing in Windows Explorer and is it opening Mp3tag v3.20? If not, it's related to your Registry tweaks and you'd need to manually register the shell extension as outlined here

Right-click context menu is missing on Windows 11 Assuming you've already restarted explorer.exe via the right-click context menu in Task Manager (or have rebooted Windows), this is happening sometimes on Windows 11 for reasons which I still trying to find out. What might help in those cases and when the classic context menu is preferred, is to manually register the shell extension from a command prompt with admin rights: cd <path to Mp3tag installation> regsvr32 Mp3tagShell.dll

I had already searched "context" prior to asking here but the threads were from the 00s.
Also I had already uninstalled, reinstalled with context ticked, then with it unticked, then again ticked.
