Convert Genre Values ("(17)" --> "Rock")

I have found little on the web relative to numbered genre values. While most applications continue to read them correctly, I still see "(2)" instead of "Country" and "(0)" instead of "Blues".

Please, what mp3tag function allows the genre entries to be updated?

There is not automatic function for this, but you can use Replace actions to replace the strings by the corresponding genre.
