Convert SFV and Playlist Files to lowercase

#1

Hi I was wondering if there is already a way to either set the default filename for sfv file to all lowercase, and also the same for the playlist filename? Because I prefer to have my mp3 files in an album directory to have the filename format of "00-artist_name-track_name.com" (all lowercase with no spaces), and have the tags be mixed case. The actions function works great with allowing me to rename the files to the format I want while leaving the tags in mixed case, but I want the sfv and m3u file too look like "00-album_name-2005.sfv, & .m3u" so that they will match the mp3 filenames.

here's what i mean, right i'm ending up with directories that look like this:

00-Swisha House - Northside 8-1998.m3u
00-Swisha House - Northside 8-1998.sfv
01-archie_lee-intro.mp3
02-derrick_lee-take_it_like_a_playa.mp3
03-derrick_lee-boys_be_hatin.mp3
04-archie_lee-whats_going_on.mp3
05-slim_thug_lil_mario-make_em_say_ugh.mp3
06-slim_thug_lil_mario-the_man_right_chea.mp3
07-unknown_artist-freestyle.mp3
08-unknown_artist-freestyle.mp3
09-archie_lee,pic,_lestor_roy-p.w.a..mp3

when i want them to look like this:

00-swisha_house-northside_8-1998.m3u
00-swisha_house-northside_8-1998.sfv
01-archie_lee-intro.mp3
02-derrick_lee-take_it_like_a_playa.mp3
03-derrick_lee-boys_be_hatin.mp3
04-archie_lee-whats_going_on.mp3
05-slim_thug_lil_mario-make_em_say_ugh.mp3
06-slim_thug_lil_mario-the_man_right_chea.mp3
07-unknown_artist-freestyle.mp3
08-unknown_artist-freestyle.mp3
09-archie_lee,pic,_lestor_roy-p.w.a..mp3

and what would be even more ideal would be:

00-swisha_house-northside_8-1998.jpg
00-swisha_house-northside_8-1998.m3u
00-swisha_house-northside_8-1998.nfo
00-swisha_house-northside_8-1998.sfv
01-archie_lee-intro.mp3
02-derrick_lee-take_it_like_a_playa.mp3
03-derrick_lee-boys_be_hatin.mp3
04-archie_lee-whats_going_on.mp3
05-slim_thug_lil_mario-make_em_say_ugh.mp3
06-slim_thug_lil_mario-the_man_right_chea.mp3
07-unknown_artist-freestyle.mp3
08-unknown_artist-freestyle.mp3
09-archie_lee,pic,_lestor_roy-p.w.a..mp3

know what i'm sayin?

Is there a way that I can do this now? If not, could you please add it?

I love mp3tag, this would make me love it even more :sunglasses:

Take a file renamer, Mp3tag only renames audio files.

But if you create m3u and sfv with Mp3tag, you can use $lower() function.

Thanks for the lower function thing. That still won't replace spaces with "_" for me but that's ok.

Oh also since I just updated to v.2.33a from v.2.16 my sfv.mte export file still has the old placeholders in it. Can someone please tell me what to put in my

"[EXPORTRECORD]
RECORDLINE01=%o %x"

in place of %o and %x? thanks!!

Ok for the spaces you can use $replace()

The new names, I had the same question long time ago

Also look in the help [F1] for complete function / placeholder lists.

Thanks a lot for all the help dano!

i ended up using this string to get exactly what i wanted:

$lower($replace(00-%album%-%year%.sfv, ,_))

and

$lower($replace(00-%album%-%year%.m3u, ,_))

works like a charm! thanks again!
