Convert tags now adding ".wav" and "number" to Track Title display

If you want to delete the existing content in
Album ("Hits")
Track ("2")
you can select all the songs from the same Album ("Hits") and then click on the tag
Album
and select the entry to blank/delete the content in this tag for all selected songs.

Repeat this step for the tag
Track

Don't forget to Save your changes by pressing CTRL + S or click on the blue floppy disc symbol in the toolbar.

Followed your suggestions - same errors.

Now where's that fifth of whiskey I just bought....

That worked as expected.

Now repeat the Convert step

Don't use %artist% %title% and don't use %track%. %title%
Use %dummy%. %title%

Yes. It always will - as there is no artist name in your filename. Where should that name come from if the filename is "02. eggplant.wav"?

Why don't you try the format strings that have been suggested to you at least 3 times

I've tried %dummy% %title%....but ONLY the title is displayed. See new screenshot....

This is exactly what you asked for:

The Artist is already filled with "Michael Franks".
Now you add the Title "Eggplant" in this case.

And PLEASE
The format string is
Percent dummy Percent Dot Space Percent title Percent
%dummy%. %title%
Every character is important, including the dot and the space

I would say "bingo".
And now: if you let MP3tag import that data into the tag field TITLE, (as you have done already as the screenshot shows) you will now see the ARTIST and the TITLE in the tag panel.
BZW: in none of the examples did "02. eggpant.wav" appear either in ARTIST or in TITLE.
So where do you want to see "ARTIST TITLE.wav"?

I think we're making progress.

14 of the 15 album tracks are displaying correctly - Artist & Title.

The only track missing is "Eggplant".

I'll keep playing with it later but gotta get back to my business.

Much progress albeit the file strings are slightly different from when I last used it a few months ago.

I don't think that this is a problem of aging format strings but of the data pattern in the filenames.
