I have used and enjoyed MP3Tag for a while now. I like the conversion features, as I can use Bulk Rename to fix the file names the way I want them, then import them into the Title field, fixing them as well. But I could not figure out how to get just the name of the track, minus the track number.
To explain, I like my filenames to start with the track number so that I can easily view the songs the way they are listed on the album, not alphabetically, as Windows usually shows, ex. "01 Poker Face.mp3". After fixing the filename to remove hyphens, misspellings, etc., converting this to the the track title would include the track number, which I don't want included in the title.
Today I was reading the FAQ for this site (which I have preveiously overlooked) and found mention of the %dummy% variable. Placing this in the conversion field allowed me to ignore everything up to and including the first space in the filename, effectively removing the track number, as it is converted to the title. Perfect.
Thanks for a great utulity program!
