Cover art challenges

Im new to this and a bit in the dark. I have not been able to save cover art such that it appears in a cover art file with the ripped music file. And when I transfer to the MS no cover art appears. However, when I run %_covers% MISSING (nothing returns), and PRESENT (the file lists) So the file appears to have cover art per Mp3Tag. Also, the cover indicator column shows a 1 for each track. When the person who rebuilt my MS used Mp3Tag for the cover art on the few he loaded, it was successful, that is where I learned of the app. The files he loaded to the MS have a Jpg cover art file with the music files. However, I cannot seem to get a separate file with the Jpg art to appear in the music file after saving in Mp3Tag. And the art does not present on the music server. The MS OM states the following; "the cover art must be embedded in the AAC, MP3, or FLAC file using ID3v2 tags" And the files are ripped in FLAC. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Do you see the cover art in Mp3tag?
If so and as your filter expression also says the cover art in embedded in your flac files.
There is also a limitation in cover-size for flac-files. How big are your jpg-files? Have you tried with smaller files?

If all above ist cleared out, the problem has to be a problem of your music server or player.

I don't know if this is just an inaccurate statement of your server/player but Mp3tag does not write Id3v2 tags to flac-files. The standard tag-format for flac-files is VorbisComment and Mp3tag sticks to the standard.

If this is an accurate representation of the filter expression, then it is no wonder that there are no results due to an invalid syntax.
The correct expression would be:
%_covers% MISSING

On the filter I did use all caps for missing, as MISSING. Expressed wrong only in the thread. Thanks Ohrekino

Yes, I see the art in the tag panel. And I do adjust art to not greater than 200 x 200 pixels, at less than 30kb as per the MS OM. I was told on another forum that FLAC was only VorbisComment. However, I at first thought that was within the scope of that particular application. Per your response, it appears to be an absolute for FLAC. And the fact McIntosh had it in their OM was what lead be to believe it was limited to the other application. Thanks Poster.

Thanks for the replies all.

Thanks Poster, I replied to yours below. Thanks for the input.
