Cover art directory issue

I’m having an issue when I add a new cover to a song, the dialog to locate the image file does not start in the “Cover art directory” as I believe it used to do.

Please check the options what you have set for the coverart directory:

Currently it is set to “C:\__Album Covers [Master]\” however when I right click and “add cover”, it starts in “H:\Downloader\__Untagged”. This directory is the location defined as “Favorite directory” however if I changed my “Favorite directory” to my album diretory, it still opens in “H:\Downloader\__Untagged” (probably using current directory).

I just reset the folder in "Cover art directory" to different folders and every time I try to add a picture, the dialogue opens in the specified folder.
Could it be that the folder you have set, does not exist?

The directory exists and named correctly, I’m sure of that. I did however change the directory to another existing directory and it worked. Then I switched it back to the directory where my images are and it failed again. Following this, I changed the name of the directory to remove the ending “ [Master]” and it worked. I switched it back to the original name and it failed again. It just doesn’t like that part of the name for some reason.

Can you try '['Master']' instead of [Master]?

See Characters with Special Functionality for an explanation. The directory name can also contain placeholders, so some characters need special treatment.

That worked! Additionally, I tried several adjustments to the directory name to realize if I remove just the last character, the ‘]’, it works fine. It only fails when the last character is ‘]’.
