I am here to bump this suggestion. I currently have the "INVOLVEDPEOPLE" and "LYRICIST" tags in my MP3Tag UI, and I would love to be able to just double-click on them to edit them instead of having to manually edit these Extended Tags one at a time.
You do know that you can add
to the file list and/or the tag panel if you have the need to use these more frequently.

I have added them to the panel already. I would just like to be able to double-click on them from the panel now so I can edit them faster.

The problem isn't with the size of the editing space - I want to be able to click on the field to edit it, and I can't do that right now. I want to be able to do like what I can currently do with the Artist field (for example).

Why can't you add data directly in the colum next to "Artist", labelled "Involved People"?
Could you show us the column definition for "Involved People"?
If you don't fill the Field: box, then this column remains write-protected as you can find in the documentation about columns:
Field usually contains a placeholder that is used for editing the content of the field through the File List. Please note that if this field is empty, the column is write-protected. You can only use placeholders for tag fields (e.g.
%ISRC%) as well as%_filename_ext%and%_filename%here.
So type the same %involvedpeople% from Value in Field: too.
Please be aware that INVOLVEDPEOPLE needs a special syntax:
