Create Folder by Album name

#1

I want to organize my mp3 files. As a first step I have tagged them pretty well using MP3TAG.

All my files are in 'Music' Folder as follows.

MUSIC>THRILLER-Track01.mp3
MUSIC>THRILLER-Track02.mp3
MUSIC>THRILLER-Track03.mp3
MUSIC>BACK STREET BOYS-01.mp3
MUSIC>BACK STREET BOYS-02.mp3

Now I want to separate them in different folders. For example, one folder for one album and all mp3 songs from that album are with in that Folder.

MUSIC>THRILLER>THRILLER-Track01.mp3
MUSIC>THRILLER>THRILLER-Track02.mp3
MUSIC>THRILLER>THRILLER-Track03.mp3

MUSIC>BACK STREET BOYS>BACK STREET BOYS-01.mp3
MUSIC>BACK STREET BOYS>BACK STREET BOYS02.mp3

Please tell me how to do it. THanks in advance

Use the context menu item Convert --> Tag to filename
and enter a filename script such as (this is mine):

X:\Music\%artist%\%album%[ - disc $num(%discnumber%,2)]$num(%track%,2) - %title%

Where X:Music is the root drive and folder of your music, remove the disknumber part if you don't use it. But if the discnumber tag is empty, it wont be written anyway (because of the [] ) or use this:

X:\Music\%artist%\%album%$num(%track%,2) - %title%

You will note the use of backslashes, they will create folders as appropriate

If you ONLY want album names, no artist info then make it as simple as:
X:\Music\%album%\%title%

This will turn:

into:

As long as your album names are populated!

Thanks much. It worked like a charm. Now, if there are existing folders with the same name as the Album, what will happen?

I guess I will run a test and fig out. Now I am at work where I do not have MP3TAG.
