Custom Tag Panel Field for MusicBrainz track Record Of Date

I wish to create a Custom Tag Panel field with the following information:

Pull Musicbrainz track Record Of Date.

I could then use this to populate the original release date with a right$ for compilation albums tracks.

Example - recording of: Dreadlock Holiday (in 1977) leaving 1977

I only see five Musicbrainz metadata with Alt T ?

In the Tag Panel you can only show existing content from your tags.

If you only see 5 MusicBrainz fields filled in Alt + T there is nothing that the Tag Panel could show more than that.

The first step would be to get the "Record of Date" from MusicBrainz.
The problem is, most of the existing Web Source Scripts handles entire albums, not single records.

As soon as you have the tag field filled with your date, you can add the same field to your Tag Panel.

Let us know if you need help to add a field to the Tag Panel.

Ot do you want to add a new field to the Tag Panel to fill it manually and save the entered data into your track?

Thank you for the reply LyricsLover. I was hoping that the Tag Sources could pull additional information form Musicbrainz, oh well. My desired information does not necessarily require Musicbrainz info if there is another source. Discogs is great, but I was hoping for an automated way to source the original track release date of compilation album tracks.

I realise most players cannot display this, but i could use Convert - Tag - Tag to add a suffix to every track title:

e.g “Title” would be “Title - (track release date) i.e 1977

Dreadlock Holiday becomes Dreadlock Holiday - (1977) as the track in Best Of 10CC compilation album, instead of the compilation album year 1987.

I have a lot of compilation albums, some I have created myself and manually doing this would take weeks. I am okay with creating Tag Panel fields, just need the pertinent information to populate the field automatically ?

What information exactly do you already know for your example song Dreadlock Holiday?
Could you show us a screenshot of Alt + T with the existing fields and content from this song that could help to identify the year 1977 online at MusicBrainz or Discogs?

Hi LyricsLover. On further examination, Musicbrainz only shows some “Recorded Of” information for compilation album tracks, so it looks like there is no information out on the internet to automate population of any derived MP3Tag field.

Only entering the individual track release date manually is the solution - sigh :frowning:
