I want to know if I can delete certain words on mutilple tracks all at once. I have listed a couple of made up tracks and email of what I am trying to achieve

What I want to do is remove the [johnsmith@gmail.com] exactly as shown including the on a lot of tracks all at once. Some tracks appear normal like the first and some may appear with extra wording like remix etc meaning many tracks appear differently. It is just that I want to delete the [johnsmith@gmail.com] from all the tracks at once. Can this be done by creating something within the program to delete specific words and symbols in bulk. Hope that makes sense. TIA
Create an action (quick) of the type "Replace" for wherever you find that data.
Search string: [johnsmith@gmail.com)
Replace with:
(leave empty)
BTW: you example features different parenthesis characters for opening and closing... don't know it that is intentional.
If the whole problem can be found in the filename (only): what do your tag fields look like? Wouldn't it be easies to clean up the tag fields first and then create new filenames?
When I choose replace in comes up with 3 options field, original, replace with. There is nothing there that says “search string”
Then try "original" instead.
It has let me type in the [johnsmith@gmail.com] in the original section. I have left the replace section blank and hit OK and nothing happens
which field did you select? (Screenshots usually help a lot)
Where do you want to replace/remove it? In the TITLE? Or _FILENAME?
For the TITLE field it would look like this:
Don't forget the leading space if you want to remove it too.
I left the field blank. When I tried to fill it in with [johnsmith@gmail.com] manually it only typed in capitals and when i clicked the drop down menu [johnsmith@gmail.com] was not there
I think I have just sorted I have done this procedure
- Actions, Quick actions
- Replace then ok
Fresh window replace screen comes up and filled in as follows
a. Field - _FILENAME
b. Original - [johnsmith@gmail.com
c. Replace with - left that blank
That seems to be working. I will test on a few multiple files at once to see if it works as I have just done a single file at a time just in case. Thank you for your help and I will post a further update for everyone if it works on multiples.
Just tried it with multiples and it worked. Hope that helps everyone trying to do something similar
