Description & Comments in Vorbis Comment Tags

Strange things are happening here...I think

I've tried tagging a few FLAC files with comments & descriptions. Using the default fields / mappings available in mp3tag)

When both those fields are tagged only the description appears in my music player, oddly enough the description is seen as a description AND the comment, seemingly overwriting the original comment.

Tagging a FLAC or OPUS file with just description or just comment has no issues, the information is parsed by the music player perfectly in both those scenarios.

This phenomenon of overwritten tags is not present for MP4 MP3 or WAV files (from my testing). Is there something I am doing incorrectly or misunderstanding? Is there no way to have both a comment & description (separately) on a file tagged via Vorbis Comment, or must I cast my dreams into the wind?

I'e attached images to show how I tagged the file & how it was seen by Symfonium (android music player) I originally thought this was an issue from the player itself, this was the devs response:

"So seems MP3Tag also set the description as the xiph comment leading to overwrite of the comment field. Will priorise the actual tags over the xiph comment as it’s more explicit anyway."

According to my simple test this is not correct.

Using Mp3tag 3.27, I added some unique text to a FLAC file's Description field. Then I checked two desktop players to see if both the Comment and Description tags were filled as expected, with different text. They were. So I suggest that you test with other players....

Good to know. I will let the dev for the player I'm using know. I thought this seemed odd.

Thank You
