Oh, yes, sorry: you also have to untick the "Prefer values ...". Then you see the whole list of predefined genres.

That doesn't answer the posters question; it's not a matter of custom genres. There are no default genres (using 3.28) at all! I added "Rock" myself for the song. [Screenshot (6)]

Please check the definition for your Genre input in the tag panel as described in the linked thread. Make sure that you have not ticked "Show only user-defined genres" [grafik]
