Display tag that is not supported?

Hi mp3tag community!
I had tagged in MusicBee with a wrong tag. For release types, MB wrote "TXXX/MusicBrainz Album Type". However it should be "MusicBrainz Album Type" which mp3tag writes correctly.
I am looking for a search and replace function in mp3tag or, at least, a method to display these wrong tags. But all I can get mp3tag to do is to display "MusicBrainz Album Type" but not the other tag.
This applies to Mp3-files, I'm on mp3tag 3.22 on Windows 10.

Yes. that is the correct form that also MP3tag uses:

Have a look at the definition/mapping of that field.
The TXXX indicates that it is a non-standard but user-defined field.

It's a TXXX ID3v2 frame internally, i.e., it means there is no dedicated ID3v2 frame reserved to represent the "MusicBrainz Album Type" field.

If what you see in MusicBee as "TXXX/MusicBrainz Album Type" is displayed as "MusicBrainz Album Type" in Mp3tag, it indicates that everything is stored correctly.

No, no, the issue is that Musicbee writes "TXXX/TXXX:MusicBrainz Album Type". This is not recognized by Mp3tag and I can't get it to be displayed.
When I tag in Mp3tag, it writes "MusicBrainz Album Type" only, which it then displays like this, and which MusicBee then displays as "TXXX/MusicBrainz Album Type".

Could you provide such a wrong tagged file to see how exactly this TXXX tag was written into your file?

You mean like this? The screenshot shows the differing processing of the two programmes and I don't really know what to make of it. In MusicBee I can sort by this tag but not so in Mp3tag.

As we don't have a file to test it, we can just guess:

You could try it yourself with Converter Tag -> Tag and
image

to fill the current content of your wrong %TXXX:MUSICBRAINZ ALBUM TYPE% into the official MUSICBRAINZ_ALBUMTYPE tag.

If this works, then you could delete the wrong tag in a second step.

Now you can delete the no more needed wrong
TXXX:MUSICBRAINZ ALBUM TYPE
tag and its content.

The same value "Collection" is now visible in the official
MUSICBRAINZ_ALBUMTYPE
tag.

To be 200% sure:
After you have deleted the wrong TXXX:-tag in Mp3tag, please load this song into MusicBee and check if "Collection" is still visible there.

Thanks again. It makes me wonder though if MusicBee should be aware of some apparent tag mishandling...

I don't know how MusicBee handles the creation of custom tags.
Maybe you could ask them in their forum if they are aware that it is possible to create a custom tag like
TXXX/TXXX:MusicBrainz Album Type
