I have some .opus files and renamed the file extension to .ogg. I heard its possible to embed cover art into .ogg because its a container. I usually use Mp3Tag to embed cover art into my flac files, so I tried doing the same with my .ogg files. The images successfully embedded but the .ogg files were not displaying their cover art on my desktop. Is the problem with the software, the OS or was I mistaken about the file type being compatible with cover art?
If MP3tag shows the covers but your player doesn't then it is most likely a player problem.
A file handling program acts as player in this respect as it has to read the tag data (just like a player).
As I said: the explorer acts like a player as it has to read the tag data to show it.
So it could be that the player supports the audio format but not the tag format.
As you can see, Mp3Tag has embedded the cover art but its not displaying in the file explorer. This image is showing .opus but I also tried renaming it to .ogg and the result is the same
Oh. that's what you mean. Apologies. I guess I need to look for third-part software to fix this issue. Since Mp3tag is not to blame. I guess this thread is resolved.
