I just installed v3.33 x64 on Windows 10
The drag & drop of JPG files to cover image doesn’t work
Could you give some more details - because I have no problems to drag a JPG file from the file system into the cover area of the tag panel and save it in the file.
It also works to d&d a picture form the browser into the tag panel and save it.
Is MP3tag running under the same user id with which you installed it?
Are you allowed to modify the files?
In addition to @ohrenkino's questions:
What music format are you using? MP3? FLAC?
What size are the JPG files that you are trying to drag and drop?
Do you get any error message?
I use MP3
the JPG file is small enough as everything works with v3.32
there is no error message, just a “sign” that paste doesn’t work, round circle with diagonal line
As I wrote: I do not have this problem.
So you would have to check the access permissions locally.
Or try to supply a sample file which refuses to accept a cover.
You can check via Windows Task Manager on the Details tab if both processes explorer.exe (if this is from where you're dragging the image file) and Mp3tag.exe are running under the same user (see the respective column).
In addition to that, enable the Elevated (in German: Heraufgestuft) column via right click on the column header and check if both the program you're dragging from and Mp3tag have the same elevation state.
In case it differs, you'd need to change it, e.g., by restarting the elevated process in non-elevated state for drag and drop to be working.
I uninstalled MP3tag with IObit uninstaller including removing all registry entries and installed MP3 tag v3.33 x64 again. Now it works.
I have no idea what is different now
Thanky you all for your answers
Wolfgang
