Hi. I am lost in what to do and i dont know where the problem is so excuse me when i ask a question here and the issues is ina totally diffent app. But maybe one of you have had same issue.
I use MP3tag to add the cover on all my movies and somehow i dont know when Kodi stopped showing the embedded cover any longer. I am using the version 21 latest Omega.
First make sure that the pictures are really embedded.
Load the files and use the filter
%_covers% MISSING
Ideally, now the file list is empty.
Remove the filter and try whether KODI needs picture files in the file system for cover art.
There is an action to export covers
Try as name
folder
cover
poster
(the extentsion gets added depending on the picture type)
The first section i found a bunch of movies with wrong extension using the filter, thanks for that so i could get this fixed.
the second with the export covers i havent got to work, not sure i understand it.
I have another question, how can i get more information into the movie, i mean the title i have already added as a tag but the Genre, Year etc,, This info are in a .nfo file, how can i extrakt these info.?
Why would you like to embed this information if you are using KODI?
KODI is designed to collect this information from online sources for you. So there is no need to embed this information into the movie files.
Extracting information from NFO (text-)files - often found as an additional file with the same name as the movie - is not easy to do, as these NFO files do not have a structured way of storing information.
Or do you speak about NFO files created from KODI an its Export function?
No its difficult for kodi to find the meta data as its asian adult movies, i use Javluv to scan for the metadata but this gives me only thumbnails in kodi so i tryed for a while ago to embed the cover and this worked briantly except it stopped and i cant figure out if i did something or what happend.
Two main features of Javluv are
- Automatic identification of movies by ID embedded in file or folder names
- Generation of Kodi-compatible .nfo metadata
If Javluv generates .NFO files, KODI just needs to read them to display all the found metadata (and maybe KODI can even search for additional informations).
I still don't understand how Mp3tag could help you in this process.
Mp3tag can embed metadata into your files, but I don't see an automated way to search for the matching movie ID for your adult Japanese movies. Only such an embedded ID could help you if they are used by KODI and/or Javluv.
I want to see the cover ot Poster picture for the movie in Kodi, Javluv can't do this, it can also not show the ID of the movie in Kodi only the title. Only when i embedd the cover into the movie i can see the cover picture in kodi or i could see.
I am looking for to see the Cover picture and the Movie ID name. In mp3tag i can embedd the cover and the ID + Title.
I had a look into the JAVLUV tool.
With (nearly) the default settings it uses FFmpeg and online sources to identify the content of the adult movie. If found, it downloads and shows the cover picture like front+spine+back cover as in this example:

With the name of the movie like ABCD-123.mp4 it saves the same information as structured ABCD-123.NFO, readable directly without any change by KODI.
With the name of the movie it also saves a cover like ABCD-123 cover.webp
You should now test if the graphic format *.webp is the cause that KODI does not show this cover without further change. You could try if it works in KODI again if you convert the cover picture to a JPG or PNG.
If you really need to embed the cover into the movie, you can do it in Mp3tag with the Action "Import Cover from File"
Format string:
%_filename%*.webp

The cover needs to be in the same directory as the movie itself.
the webp it downloads in javluv is the fanart picture with both back and front. I dont use this for cover. I have to make my self the cover front picture.
