Engineer field has my email address

Hi everyone.
I've just noticed that in the metadate info on my files there is a ENGINEER field which has my personal email address visible. You can see this in VLC and Windows Properties (right click). BUT you cant see this field within MP3Tag? How can I remove it from my personal files and how do I make this field visible in MP3Tag?

Thanks

What kind of files are these? MP3?
Do they have APE tags?
Which tag versions do you read?

FLAC and MP3.
Dont know what an APE tag is.
Dont know

A screenshot from the extended tags dialogue in MP3tag would help more.
Please select only a single file.

I replied to your post on the dbPoweramp site earlier. This is likely some custom tag that is being written to your files during a rip or conversion stage. The fact that it is your personal email address would suggest this is from a local action.

Were these originally ripped using software on your side, or converted in some way? Something that used your email address to register the software perhaps?

That field is present in the files that have been captured from Vinyl and also files I've bought online, then converted to flac using dbpoweramp. After looking at my workflow, its magix Soundforge that is creating that field in the master file. Looks like to need to kick them for adding my email to the files.

BUT - I still want to know how to display that field in MP3Tag?

Thanks

In you left pane you can add one more field to displays and name it ENGINEER & put ENGINEER in as tag

Did you check the extended tags dialogue Alt-T

I think that ENGINEER would be a user-defined field. And if that is so, then I doubt that the windows explorer will show it.

The real fieldname can be seen in the extended tags dialogue.

THANK YOU, thats works, I can now remove the name in that field
