Export Mp3tag data to MS Access

Is it possible to export Mp3tag data to MS Access? I have about 2,500 song records. I’d like to be able to create different sorts, queries, etc.

There is no direct way to write an MS Access database using Mp3tag.
But you can export your metadata in a CSV format and then import this CSV in your self created MS Access database.

I wonder what these sort, queries etc. would feature so that they could not be realized by MP3tag.
The problem with the transfer to Access that always prior to a sort or query the database has to be updated with the current data set from the tags.
IMHO it must be a very special query and/or sort to justify that extra effort. That is why I would be interested.

+1 :+1:

Not to forget: Such queries often result in data or changes that need to be transferred back into music files. Therefore, it would also be necessary to be able to transfer the data back from MS Access to Mp3tag.

Here’s my problem: the data I have in Mp3tag is from the music I had in iTunes many years ago. Since Apple decided to eliminate iTunes I moved all my music to Apple Music. I now have many more songs in Apple Music than I had in iTunes, there fore my Mp3tag data is out of date. I see no way to export my new music collection from Apple Music to Mp3tag

You have metadata in Apple Music only?
Are you sure that this information is not saved/embedded in your tracks?
What information exactly do you miss if you load a "new" track in Mp3tag and press Alt+T (View > Extended Tags)?

This is only necessary, if you really see metadata only stored in Apple Music that is completely missing inside your tracks - openend in Mp3tag and checked with Alt + T.

I do not quite follow: MP3tag reads the data from the currently loaded files. For those it does not matter which other programs access the files as long as the data is saved as metadata in the files and not the 3rd party programs database only.
I also wonder which role MS Access should play here? Does MS Access read

data?
If not, I still wonder what the purpose of the intermediate step with MS Access would be.

It is unusual that none of your metadata is carried over. But if it really is, you can try the Embed scripts that are available here.

I must apologize to you all for my stupidity. I do have the Meta data from Apple Music listed in Mp3tag. I thought the data was from iTunes, but it's from Apple Music. I never thought to verify. I'm quite happy to be able to format and sort the data any way I like. I'm sorry to have wasted your time. Thank you all.

Wasn't the Access function to sort and query the original trigger to ask for support? What has changed now that you found that

I am surprised that the problem should have been solved.

I will be able to create reports in Access. I'm pretty sure I now know how to move data from Mp3tag to Access. I'm going to test it out using some small amount of data.

You may have noticed a number of export scripts that generate out put in format like rtf, html, even xml would be possible (although you would need to create that yourself).
The advantage of these exports would be that you can be sure that they use the up-to-date data from the files.
And if the suggested export scripts are not enough, then there is a fair collection of user-contributed scripts the forum:
