[F] Not possible edit/read tag from some mp4 VIDEO file

Hi!

Sorry for my english, only speak spanish :stuck_out_tongue:

I detect a bug in mp3tag 2.45a (i think).

DescripciĆ³n of the problem:

When i encode video file with the program badaboom to mp4 (H.264+AAC) is not possible edit tag in mp3tag. If I use itunes i can edit tag of this file without problems. So the problem is of mp3tag.

When i see the videos in mp3tag, mp3tag NOT READ tags and NOT WRITE tags but mp3tag can see the files. If I want edit tag of one mp4 file I obtain this error:

Mp3tag v2.45a

File "D:\ImƔgenes\H.264-AAC ENDODED WITH BADABOOM.mp4"
cannot be opened for writing.

Aceptar

Also i can't see the tag in mp3tag but in itunes i can change tag and see tag.

This is a bug? or is one problem of configuratiĆ³n?

Hi!

I upload to rapidshare (it is a trailer):

I want send you to your mail but i can't see your mail, sorry :ph34r:
In .rar file there are 2 video files in mp4. The original file (trailer of youtube) and video converted with badaboom program.

More information of these files:

mp3tag works ok with the youtube mp4 original file
mp3tag not work with encoded file ==> not read the tag and not write the tag.
I use the original configuratiĆ³n of mp3tag 3.45a and nothing changed

TagScanner 5.1 build 553 work ok with encoded file.
itunes 9.02 work ok with encoded file.
Tag&Rename 3.5.4 work ok with encoded file (if the file is less 2GB, so in this case ok).

I use windows vista x64 updated until today.
I use badaboom 1.2.1.7 (for CUDA tecnology).

IMPORTANT: If I cut the video file encoded with Boilsoft Video Splitter 5.01 after I CAN edit tag with mp3tag! it's mistery!!

And, I have more files mp4 downloaded of internet and not work with mp3tag (and not encoded with badaboom) but these files are very huge (800MB or more), so i can't send you. However, if you need i can cut the video files and send fragment to you but if i cut these files can be modificated the metadata and hide error? (i don't know).

Say me something if you can repair this bug pliz!!! I want tagger all my mp4 video files for make smart list (1500GB and other tagers are very slow for edit tag name :frowning: for this i want use mp3tag, is more speed!!)

Hi All,
I have the same problem as described by vvcepheus7. In my case, these are podcat video
in mp4 downloaded via itunes. mp3tag does not see at all the tags inside these podcasts.
Yet, foobar and itunes can see the tags correctly, as well as an other tag software.

This is now fixed with the current Development Build Mp3tag v2.45b.

thanks! now work's very fine! :slight_smile: All mp4 files of my library work's fine!

Only one thing, mp3tag now read:

%itunesmediatype% = Unknown

Before update, mp3tag read:

%itunesmediatype% = Movie

But its not problem for me, I can edit for all mp4 now. And Itunes work ok before and now. Furthermore, it is not necessary to put the tag name so that itunes will recognize it as a movie

The internal mapping of these values has been changed from iTunes 8 to iTunes 9 and Mp3tag's mapping has been changed accordingly.

I am having this same issue with SOME files I have downloaded from vj-pro.net. Most of them work correctly, but some will give me the same error. Is there a fix?
