[Feature Request] Restore Previous Session (Reload Multiple Directories and Filters)

Hello Everyone!

Would it be possible to add an option for Mp3tag to remember its state between sessions?

It would be a huge time-saver if the program could automatically reload the last used directories (including multiple folders loaded at once), the active filter, and the selected files upon restart. Essentially, I'd like the program to open exactly as it was when I closed it—similar to how modern web browsers handle "Restore previous session."

This would be especially helpful for long-term projects where files are spread across different locations and re-adding them manually every time is a bottleneck.

Thanks for considering!

You could save the current set of files in a playlist and load that in the next session. This would include also files from different folders.
Filters are saved already automatically.

The extra steps do not not offer the kind of convenience I had in mind, but it certainly serves the purpose — thank you, @ohrenkino

The advantage of the

is that you can use MP3tag for smaller tasks in the meantime without losing the grand project - which would be the case if always the last session gets saved automatically.
So you could tag just a few files and then load the saved playlist to return to the bigger list.

Excellent pointer, thank you.

I think the saving of a session, whether manual or auto, should be optional — and it should also allow for multiple sessions getting saved.

If you save the session under a user-defined name then it would be very close to set a playlist name. And that function is already available.

Lately, I have consistently applied this, and it works satisfactorily. Thank you for your suggestion, @ohrenkino.
