I occasionally edit asf files. However, asf files are more commonly labelled as wmv files. I suggest that mp3tag treat the wmv extension as an asf extension. In that way it would not be necessary to rename the extension in order to edit the file's ID tags.

Currently, mp3tag cannot edit the ID tags of a wmv file unless it is renamed as an asf extension.

You can add the extension wmv in the options in the branch "tags". This should make it obsolete to rename a file.

Yes, you can add wmv to the extension, but you cannot change asf tags unless you rename wmv to asf. Try it and see.
