Is anyone her using MP3Tag with this little player? IT’s a nice looking little thing that sounds great, and has good battery life, but it is does have a few limitations. But for the money, it’s brilliant.
And yeah - it looks super cool (but we should get hung up on that, right?!?)
Do you have any actions/groups of actions saved that you use before loading tracks onto this thing?
This looks almost like an advertising to me.
I have a lot of actions that I use for various purposes, not limited to a single sort of player.
What is the real problem that you want to solve?
You make me laugh somethines, sir! I’m not advertising, mate. I do like this little thing, though.
I’m just checking if we do have any users here that we can discuss how we use MP3Tag for it.
It is FAR FROM A PERFECT PLAYER. I know there are much, much better ones out there. In fact, I’d go as far to say that how it handles metadata in some ways is quiet counter-intuitive, and I have felt some frustration after loading files and them not behaving the way I’d expect them to (or, the way that other players do).
And the reason that I am asking, is that this thing is KNOWN to have a very strange way of handling metadata.
So, uh, I suppose I’m just reaching out to see if we have anyone here using one, that we can share actions/configurations making it easier to prepare files for this thing.
In my case, using an iPhone for work and personal use is great, but the output power is low and not great for overall sound.
I have a separate DAP that is dedicated as a player, has tons of output, has a 4.4mm balanced Pentaconn connector, and uses decent DACs that sound much better driving wired headphones. But more importantly it also uses a microSD card that can hold my entire 28k+ song library that is mostly in lossless format. No need to stream, especially when travelling.
I just remembered someone I interacted with via email whose cover art wasn't showing on the Snowsky Echo (not the Mini) when ID3v2.4 tags were used for MP3 files instead of ID3v2.3.
This might be due to ID3v2 unsynchronization (so it may only affect some files), but it's worth checking if the cover art doesn't appear.
Hi Florian. The issue w/cover art on the Mini is well known.
The fix is to ONLY use JPEG files for your cover art, and they should ONLY be square. General consensus is 500x500, or 600x600, but I’ve gone down to 300x300 in a pinch without problems.
