File corrpution

I am getting errors when using Mp3tag under specific conditions. I wonder what I might do to prevent them.

Test 1
Start with 78 ape audio files
ape files tagged with tag1(ID3v1.1) and tag2(APE)
Checked (Verify) with Monkey's Audio 4.34
        No errors
Convert to flac level 5 with foobar2000 1.3.19
flac files tagged tag1(empty) and tag2(Vorbis)
Test with flac 1.3.0 via Flac-Frontend (Test for errors)
        No errors
Launched Mp3tag v2.89a and loaded flacs
Dropped 500x500px jpg on all 78 flac files and saved
        Test with flac 1.3.0
7 flac files reported the following errors, multiple times per file
        *** Got error code 0:FLAC__STREAM_DECODER_ERROR_STATUS_LOST_SYNC

Test 2
    Started with known good apes
Dropped cover art jpgs on 78 ape files via Mp3tag
Checked (Verify) with Monkey's Audio 4.34
        No errors
Convert to flac level 5 with foobar2000 1.3.19
Test with flac 1.3.0 via Flac-Frontend (Test for errors)
        No errors
With flacs loaded in Mp3tag each containing jpg cover art
        Replaced in TITLE ' - ' (hyphen) with ' ยท ' (ALT 0183)
        Got 6 files with errors
            FLAC__STREAM_DECODER_READ_FRAME
            FLAC__STREAM_DECODER_ERROR_STATUS_LOST_SYNC

I've tried to verify your findings, however Mp3tag produces perfectly valid FLAC files here. Have you tried changing the tags with other programs, e.g., foobar2000 or MediaMonkey?

Also, are the files on a network drive / NAS?

Yes, all the music files are on a network share. It messes up pretty regularly.

I moved a few of the sources from the share to a local drive and performed the same type of changes there I had done while on the network share. There was no corruption.
