Flac files on Denon DNP730AE streamer

Maybe someone has already solved my problem, but when playing tagged Flac files from my PC (Windows 11 23H2) through the internal streamer to my Denon DNP730AE network streamer I have the following problem:

Artist shows e.g. The Police; The Police and below Message In A Bottle (2nd line)
The tag has Various Artists as Albumartist and The Police as Artist (as it is a compilation cd of flac songs).

The Windows Media Player (Classic) show The Police - Message In A Bottle (without ";").

Does anybody know how to solve this problem? I use MediaMonkey 5 for database purposes and visual looking at my collection of music. And only Flac files have this problem at this moment. Please?

What does the extended tags dialogue look like for a single file?

Not sure what you mean, but here is an example:

Filename 1-20 The Cure - A Forest.flac
Title A Forest
Artist The Cure
Albumartist Various Artists
Album Testament Of The Eighties
Track 20
Discnumer 1/10
Year 2011
Genre Pop
Comment (blanc)
Codec Free Lossless Audio Codec

Single File no Various Artists but Artist name the same as Albumartist

Is Media Mokey also handling the streaming in this case? Or do you have some other DLNA server in use? That is usually where this data is managed.

I use Windows 11 right menu option "show/display/play on device", in my case Denon DNP730AE and then he streams the files to my network streamer. This way the problem occurs.

Just tested streaming from within Mediamonkey to my Denon (DLNA/UPnP) and then there is no problem with the semicolon. Tested with 2 different folders containong flac files. Any idea what causes this problem?

You have your own answer. It works with MM. It doesn't from Windows (backbone is WMP). I highly doubt MS will address this. So either use MM or some other uPnP renderer that is focused on the data quality, or live with the poor display info if you wish to continiue to use Windows to manage this.

The extended tags dialogue can be opened with Alt-T .
A screenshot of that dialogue of a single file (not all of them) would be nice.

Thank you.
And that displays as
The Cure; The Cure
A forest
?

That is correct. But it happens only when using the built in streaming option in Windows 11 (right click menu "show/display/play on device", in my case Denon DNP730AE and then he streams the files to my network streamer. So through the network (cabled ethernet) from pc to Denon.). When using Mediamonkey 5 (tested streaming from within Mediamonkey to my Denon (DLNA/UPnP), there is no problem with the semicolon. Tested with 2 different folders containing flac files.

I think that the magic that you can effect with MP3tag is spent right now.
My idea would have been that perhaps more than 1 ARTIST field could have caused the phenomenon but as that is not there - it looks to me like a Windows peculiarity.
Please note that Windows has a record to support flac only very reluctantly.

That I have noticed unfortunately many times over, and in this case I will switch to using Mediamonkey 5 for streaming to the Denon. In the near future I hope to buy a dedicated streamer which will play directly on my amplifier/speakers. Thanks everyone for helping me out and thinking with me about this issue!
