Folder shared with File Sharing

Hi Community/Support

Go easy on me… I’m a computer dummy!

I’ve just paid for the app because Sonos could recognise my album artwork. It’s a tedious process but at least your app recognises and put’s the artwork into my Sonos music library. It’s fantastic but I've hit my first hurdle:

There are 17 albums that have gone into my Apple Music folder (all either purchased , normal or protected AAC files) which don’t seem to be recognised by mp3tag. Well, they are recognised, just greyed out so when I press open, nothing happens. I don’t know why they have gone into a separate folder but it doesn’t seem I have the right permissions?

Thanks in advance for your help…

Jay

It's hard to tell what's going on, but Mp3tag doesn't support protected AAC files, i.e., *.m4p if that's what you're looking at.

Thanks Florian. That helped. I have now exported my album artwork from iTunes to my Sonos Library. Thanks to your App!

Now for another question and this is my fault…

I have managed to separate an album and can’t put it back together. I was playing around when I first started and it says replace existing file. I’m not sure which one the existing file is…

I’ve done convert… keeps switching back. I save it once highlighted but it just creates another file…

I’ve used the folder with the + sign. Oops How to undo?

Can you describe what you're trying to achieve or what your question is? It's hard to tell from your screenshots.

Hi. I'm trying to put this last album into the mp3tag so it tallies with iTunes. I'm sorting my sound system and upgrading it. When I update my music library on Sonos it can't read this file because it can't be read because I have accidentally erased the tags. I am busy playing files so I can match each file to a song. I'm really not a computer guy and hope that I have made you understand a little...

Sonos can't read anything and that's where the album should go. I need to give it a path...

This my Sonos system. I’ve been organising my library. I prefer to play my music through the library. I do stream but I like the sound quality better. Sonos pulls the music from my iTunes. Your app helped me tremendously with the Album artwork. Now I'm trying to tidy my system up. Find what I can use and play and what I can’t. I will have to invest in a Dolby Atmos speaker sooner or later. With your App, Sonos can read the files much better. When I paid for your app, I didn’t know what I was doing an erased the first album alphabetically. Everything else is perfect I just need to know what to type in, or drag or whatever so my tidying up can be complete…

It looks like 'Flicted by Bruce Hornsby

So if you sort the files by filename via View → Sort By → Filename you have a basic order, but there is one outlier and that's the filename without a number. This should be on the 3rd position in the list and you can move this simply via drag and drop.

Now select all file, choose Tag Sources → MusicBrainz and enter

Artist: Bruce Hornsby
Album: 'Flicted

Select the search result and import the metadata to your files.

After that, you can rename via Convert → Tag - Filename using

%ALBUMARTIST% - %ALBUM% - $num(%TRACK%,2). %TITLE%

It won’t let me type in ‘Flicted so should I do double “ quotations instead?

Is it just one number, you’ve written a comma. Would the track number be 1,1 then 2,1 then 3,1 or just simply 1 then 2 then 3

Does this look right? Done the first 6…

Is it track 1 of disc 1 (1,1) then track 2 of 1 (2,1)

Don't worry; let me make mistakes. It’s good to learn this way

Cheers

No, I don't think that this looks right. I was referring to and giving my instructions based on the screenshots you provided above

I think I can't help you any further with those files.

You,ve done enough, thank you Florian. It worked! Not because I did it correctly but it learns once it's got enough information.

I'm complete! Thanks for your time and energy...
