From filename to playlist

I'm having trouble getting the following display to show on my Creative Zen Vision: M playlists...

"01 - title"

Right now all that's showing is "title" without the track # (or any # for that matter.)

I have the tag - filename set at $num(%track%,2) - %title% so the filename appears just how I would like it to display on my mp3 player. The filename - tag string is %artist% - %album% - %track% - %title% but I don't know if this has any bearing on my problem.

How can I get my playlists to display "01 - title"? Looking for a specific song amongst hundreds of others can be annoying without the track # being displayed.

I've read through all the posts when I searched "track #" and "track number" but none of them seemed to work for me. I tagged a group of music files (album) with mp3tag, transferred them to my player and only the "title" format was displayed in the playlist. I then transfered the same group of music files to my player before I tagged them with mp3tag and the "01 - title" format was displayed.

I'm using v2.39 of mp3tag and am working both with mp3 and wma files.

While I'm posting, I would also like to know how I can diplay "track # - artist - title", i.e., "247 - Billy Joel - Piano Man" so that the track #s correspond to the artists in alphabetical order. Y'know, for those extra big compilation playlists that contain both mp3 and wma files. If this is not possible than at least to display the playlists as "artist - title".

I've spent hours testing different setting combinations to get it to display how I want but to no avail, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi
I'm not sure how it works in Creative, but if it is similar to iPod than the only thing that can be displayed is Title. What I do is just putting the information that I want to be displayed into the title e.g. title tag: "01 my song" and that's it. If it's not what you mean I don't understand your problem. It seems that other people don't understand it either
