Front Covers not showing via DLNA

Hi,

I’m currently using this tool to add tags and front covers to my MP3 files.

However for some albums/folders it just doesn’t work.

I’ve applied the correct tags and front cover to the files, even when I check in ‘finder’ via the Mac I see them showing.

However If I open a DLNA app on my Iphone/Ipad/TV I don’t see the covers showing.

If I then open the folder in DLNA, I see that some of the files does have the cover showing and others not, even if I apply again the tags, it doesn’t work.

I’ve tried with different DLNA apps, it’ all the same, so it’s not the app, but the tags on the files that for some does not seems to work properly.

Any idea’s how to resolve ?

Thanks a Lot!!

PS: at least the music if playing well

Are you implying that this is an MP3tag problem?
What are the differences between the files where it works and where it does not?
E.g. size could be an issue as well as cover type (jpg, png etc.).
Also, it would be worthwhile to see which file types cause problems and also the tag types.
Or in short:
a screenshot of a the extended tags dialogue for a file in which it works and one of a file where it does not would help.

Hi,

there’s totally no difference in the files where it works and not, I’ve tried with different covers (removing the tags, re-adding them. I don’t see the logic. tried different sizes… I have no clue at the end. It works for 90% of my collection, so for the 10% left…

With no further evidence it is impossible for me to analyze the problem any deeper.
Screenshots help a lot, esp. those from the extended tags dialogue(s) - as requested before.
And in general answers to the already asked questions.

Hi,

I got it solved by comparing different tags on several albums, and the solution is to complete the ‘Genre’ and ‘Discnumber’ tag.

If I do that, all the albums covers are showing perfectly in all the DLNA players.

This is highly unusual. There is no relationship between the genre or disc fields to whether or not album art should be available in any player or library management software I have used. I am more inclined to believe that saving the files again, with or without these additions, may have updated the tag structure.

Either way, it is good you have resolved the problem.
