is it possible to generate playlist name to name of directory containing the files
Have you tried File>Generate Playlist ...?
Yes that's what used, but it populated with the previous playlist name I created, want it to automatically take the album or folder name that I'm using thanks
Please show us a screenshot of the function and parameters that you used.
Thank you.
But that is File>Options>Playlist
and not
and the function for which I linked the documentation.
I would add a .m3u or .m3u8 in the format string to define what kind of playlist it should become.
You would have to load all files for which you want to get a playlist if that should be processed in 1 go and create several playlists.
That image doesn't appear to be mp3tag
Why would I post an image that isn't Mp3tag?
Well, apparently, I can't help you - although this function probably would have been the solution for your problem.
That is what mp3tag looks like with Windows Dark Mode enabled.
well, sometimes people just want a simple answer, and not be directed to the FAQ page…i found how to get the playlist name to be the album name….but the screenshot you posted looked different to mp3tag, apparently it is from mp3tag, everyone is not as familiar with mp3tag as your good self….please try to be more understanding of others mistakes and misunderstandings, i`ll try to work out how to create playlists from multiple folders each with their unique name, i have worked it out now, thank you
Thank you, didn't realise, looks so different. Realised that importing multiple albums into mp3tag, allows playlist generation of all the albums in one go….really cool, assume it will overwrite any existing m3u playlists of the same name. Thanks again for explaining the look of the image ![]()
