Help batch re-tagging files but maintaining the album's track numbers?

Hey all!

Super new to using this so I'll try to explain it all best I can!

I'm using RockBox on an old iPod 6th gen, and the way I have my music files set up is like so:
-- Artist
---- Album 1
------ 1 - Alone.flac
------ 2 - And Nothing Is Forever.flac
---- Album 2
-- Other Artist
-- Etc.

The way I'm trying to get this to work and display properly is to have the files tagged with the name of the file itself being "%track% - %title%" right? So for example "1 - Alone.flac"

The problem I'm having is doing this as a batch. If I set the directory to scan the music folder itself, I can sort all of the music by album and everything looks fine, albeit with some tracks having their track numbers displayed like "01/15" instead of just "1" or "01" (if anybody has a solution to fix this as a batch as well, that would also be super helpful).

When I try to use the Auto Numbering Wizard using the data saved on the tracks, instead of maintaining the numbered tracks on the album, it changes all of the track numbers to the number of tracks I'm trying to change as a whole, i.e. +1,000 songs. Am I going to have to go through and individually change over the file names album by album to maintain the proper track listing numbers, or is there a way to do this as a batch and I'm just dumb? :frowning: And also, what is the best way to handle albums with multiple discs? (I have several The Cure albums that are deluxe editions broken into multiple discs, should these have two separate folders for each disc?)

Thanks so much for the help, I know this is a lot of questions

The track numbering wizard has option to reset the track counter for totals on change of an album (or other criteria)

If the Album changes as it shows e.g. the discnumber, then the counter will also be reset.
Here are sample settings - try them on copies of a few files first:
