Hello
File list 1st colum is by default a mini artcover but I already see the artcover on the column. So exist a way I can disactivate the 1st file list column?
Thank you
I am lost: in which "column" do you see it and in which "column" do you want to hide it?
It's the first column in the File List that shows a little album art thumbnail in the Mac version.
It's not possible, I made a note on my internal wish list.
Just a hint: while the thumbnails in the file list may look the same, due to their tiny size, it could well be that 1 file has an embedded picture of the dimensions 200x200 while others are of 1000x1000.
The picture in the file list will probably not reveal this difference.
But if you select all these files with the allegedly same pictures, the tag panel will show "Cover varies" which would be an indicator to check the properties of the embedded pictures if all files should get the same picture.
Also, the column in the file list shows at a glance which files might still need a picture.
The file list will always show the thumbnail for each file whereas the tag panel only shows for the actively selected file(s). There is a distinct benefit to keep both.
Is there any plan to implement this feature for the Windows version?![]()
Yess, I am aware of that. But having control on seeing or not this first thumbnail provides me more space in the FilesList view. I don’t ask Florian to delete that first column just to have more control (be able to activate/disactivate). For the way I am using MP3tag I don’t need to see a thumbnail of each track on the File list (mostly of the time I only have 1 track in the File list).
Clever! Nice tip!
Ok, if you want to make it the best: the way i would like this feature to work is: when Tag Panel is open thumbnail is disactivated, when Tag Panel is closed thumbnail is activated. Also, be able to configure the thumbnail in several situations always activated/disactivated, just when tag panel is closed, & maybe there are other situations I am not able to see right now.
Ouh, surprised mac version has something good versus the win. haha
Agreed. I wasn't suggesting the request wasn't valid. I was providing some scope to show there are different purposes for each display of the thumbnails in the list and the tag panel. Future readers of this thread need perspective whether any change is implemented or not.
I would definitely not want that as the default setting, and certainly not at the expense of performance or if it required saving thousands of thumbnails.
Agreed. Certainly for long-time users, introducing a forced change to the main UI could cause some upset. But since the request here was to make the feature optional that would apply to np both the Mac and Windows(?) versions.
This would also be a good reason to not enable it by default. But with modern machines having more than enough horsepower to handle it, this would be a nice update.
I'm thinking it would be a great visual to confirm whether a cover exists or not. Without having to select each file. Perhaps an enhancement in the options settings could be to limit it to embedded images, folder images, or either.
