I always try to make an album of various songs, and then put it as 1 album in my iPhone. But when I upload the album, all the songs are completely distributed in my library as individual songs. How can I fix this so that all songs remain in the album?
Fill the fields ALBUMARTIST, ARTIST, ALBUM, TITLE and perhaps TRACK
What music player app are you using, and how are you transferring these files to your iPhone?
Most apps will use the tags that @ohrenkino shared above as a baseline. Some are folder/filename based. The answers to these questions will determine how to proceed.
ohrenkino, thank you for your quick response. But I already use the fields you suggested.
ALBUMARTIST and ALBUM should have the same data in all files, e.g
ALBUMARTIST: Various
ALBUM: Favourites
MotleyG, I use the default player of my iPhone X and I transfer the albums to my iPhone with CopyTrans Manager.
I do exactly what you advise, but it makes no difference. The individual songs are still spread throughout my library and not placed in 1 album.
So you have several albums called "Favourites" with the ALBUMARTIST "Various"?
Perhaps setting COMPILATION to "1" helps.
If you need COMPILATION more often, add a column in the file list or an element in the tag panel.
For the test purpose, use the quick&dirty solution:
Select all tracks of the album
Open the extended tags dialogue Alt-T
In that dialogue click on the "New" button.
Select as field: Compilation"
Enter as field: 1
Click all the OKs to save the modification.
The field should have the name COMPILATION. I see COMPULATION in the screenshot.
I refer to this field:
See the documentation also on the customization of file list and tag panel:
(Customization = add Compilation in file list and/or tag panel)
Unfortunately, still no extra field with "Compilation" but the idea that a unique field can be used is included. I've now used the "Disknumber" field to give it a common denominator "1" in this case, and guess what. It works :-} now all tracks are placed in 1 and the same album. Ohrenkino I would like to thank you kindly for your patience and effort you have taken to help me. Thanks again.
